Founded in 1671, Malasiqui grew across the fertile plains of Central Pangasinan. Agriculture remains central to local life, with rice, corn, vegetables, poultry, livestock and mangoes supporting its economy.
Its terrain ranges from broad level plains to rolling eastern uplands and lowlands near the Agno River. The Ingalera River, creeks and irrigation systems support the municipality's arable land.
